Formworker
Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Formworker to join our construction team. As a Formworker, you will play a critical role in the creation of molds and formwork used in concrete construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of construction techniques, excellent carpentry skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formwork Construction:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and construct molds and formwork for concrete structures.
- Measure and cut materials, such as wood, plywood, or metal, to create formwork components.
- Installation and Shoring:
- Set up and install formwork on construction sites, ensuring proper alignment and dimensions.
- Construct shoring and bracing systems to support formwork during concrete pouring.
- Concrete Pouring Assistance:
- Collaborate with concrete finishers and other construction professionals to facilitate the pouring and finishing of concrete.
- Ensure that formwork is secure and properly aligned before, during, and after the pouring process.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections of formwork to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Make adjustments or repairs as needed to achieve the desired formwork quality.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Formworker in the construction industry.
- Excellent carpentry skills, including the ability to read and interpret construction plans.
- Knowledge of various formwork materials and construction techniques.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy formwork components.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and safety.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Apprenticeship, vocational training, or certification in formwork construction is preferred.
