Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Formworker to join our construction team. As a Formworker, you will play a critical role in the creation of molds and formwork used in concrete construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of construction techniques, excellent carpentry skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formwork Construction:
    • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and construct molds and formwork for concrete structures.
    • Measure and cut materials, such as wood, plywood, or metal, to create formwork components.
  2. Installation and Shoring:
    • Set up and install formwork on construction sites, ensuring proper alignment and dimensions.
    • Construct shoring and bracing systems to support formwork during concrete pouring.
  3. Concrete Pouring Assistance:
    • Collaborate with concrete finishers and other construction professionals to facilitate the pouring and finishing of concrete.
    • Ensure that formwork is secure and properly aligned before, during, and after the pouring process.
  4. Quality Control:
    • Conduct inspections of formwork to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards.
    • Make adjustments or repairs as needed to achieve the desired formwork quality.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
    • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Formworker in the construction industry.
  • Excellent carpentry skills, including the ability to read and interpret construction plans.
  • Knowledge of various formwork materials and construction techniques.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy formwork components.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and safety.

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship, vocational training, or certification in formwork construction is preferred.
